The GeoBus project is aimed to hold and facilitate mapping parties in small towns and rural areas.

Origins of the GeoBus

The original GeoBus idea was to obtain a schoolbus and convert it (Skoolies) into a mobile mapping station. This bus would drive around the major cities and social events to hold mapping parties and to promote the ideas of open source and OpenStreetMap.

GeoBus Today

GeoBus has transformed into an initiative to map trails and rural routes in a social setting. The GeoBus project crowdsources mapping parties in order to create a more complete map.
